Hi: My husband and I adopted Animas and Hannah from Tassie's Hope, which is now part of the Frisco Humane Society. I wanted to share our story because Ani and Nan are so much a part of our lives and I can't imagine not having them. They are so different from each other yet they are best friends and can't bear to be separated. Animas is the explorer - he has to check everything out and see what's going on. Hannah is a homebody - she is content in her chair just lounging with the pack.We love them both so much!

I adopted Sam I Am (originally named Shakespeare) on March 13th. I was not actually looking to truly adopt that day as I had lost my 9 1/2 year old cat three weeks before. I was at Petsmart slowly re-buying new cat things for the future and decided to look at the cats that Saturday just to see how I would react.
When I asked to see Sam and two other cats, all three cats came up to me. It was Sam who stayed with me, bumping, rubbing, and loving all over me. Some other people and kids came in to see the adoptable cats and while the others went to see the new visitors, Sam stayed right with me. I knew he was adopting me at that moment and I couldn't say no. I adopted him that afternoon and took him by my vet for a quick check up where they said he was in great health.
He was overwhelmed with my home at first and I had to keep him isolated to my bedroom and bathroom the first few hours and then introduce him to the other rooms. The first night he didn't sleep super well but a few nights later, he was sleeping through the night with me.
He picked out a favorite toy immediately (a purple catnip mouse) despite me putting out about ten different toys. He is inseparable from the toy and carries it around in his mouth, sleeps on it, and even "baths" it in his water bowl. When he wants to play, he drops it in front of me, I toss it, he brings it back. He also loves greeting me at the door when I get home from work and watches me cook and clean. He has this funny way of playing under blankets and peering out with his eyes then diving back under the blanket when you look at him. He truly has been a blessing to me since I adopted him and I'm very happy the Frisco Humane Society had taken such excellent care of him.

Hello,
I have been meaning to write FHS for almost two years now. My husband and I adopted Gabby (a.k.a Bethany) on September 24, 2006 from the Frisco Petsmart. Gabby was hit by a car on 75 near the Bethany exit. Which is why she was originally called Bethany. She had a broken pelvis and it was later discovered that she was pregnant. There is not a week that goes by that I don't think of the wonderful foster parent who witnessed her getting hit by a car and saving her life.
We have been blessed by having her as a part of our family. She is our little angel and we love her so much. I could not imagine my life without her now. We have renamed her Gabby due to the fact that we didn't hear a meow out of her for weeks. Once she got used to the surroundings we hear the cutest little squeak that is her meow and it will melt your heart. Gabby has a big sister kitty, Gizzy, and they are thick as thieves. Gizzy is 12 and Gabby is now 3 years old. Gabby brought out the best in Gizzy and vice versa. They run around the house playing and nap together in whatever room they are in. Two years later, I want the foster parent who rescued her to know that she is doing well and is truly loved by our family. Our thoughts and prayers go out to her foster parent. Thank you. We hold you so dear to heart.
I have attached two pictures. The first one is the day we brought her home from Petsmart. Gizzy wasn't too happy someone had taken over her "spot". The second one is her laying around on the chair (which she's not supposed to be in!) that she loves. Thank you FHS. What you do each day makes a difference to so many lives.
Thank you, Paige and Chris
Hi! My name is Kate and I adopted a Catahoula/Lab mix a few years ago named DaVinci aka Dugan now. I just wanted to share a few pics and let y'all know that Dugan is doing great. He is definately an adult now and has long past his puppy phase (what a phase that was). But he is the apple of our eye. He has the most personality of all of our dogs. He is an avid swimmer and LOOOOOVES going to the mountains every year in Taos. Please enjoy his pics and thank you so much for my baby boy or should I say big boy! (Dugan is on left in the first picture)
This is Maggie (below) .. the first two pictures are her shelter picture (October 2007)and then one week after she was rescued. She had a demodectic mange. The second two pictures were taken by her adopter in May 2008
Hi- remember us !!! Hope you are doing well ! It's almost been a year since our sweet little Alex joined our family - hard to believe. I thought you might appreciate an update and a few pictures. He is really doing well. His ears haven't caused him any problems this spring - I changed him and Kelsey to a holistic food called Canidae and it seems to have helped with that. I do have his medicine but he really hasn't needed it. He is also completely over being headstrong too- he's just really a big baby !! Kelsey is doing great too- she's 11 now and has slowed down a little but she's still really healthy. She and Alex are inseparable.Keep in touch - Karin
It's really great the way you keep up with these special animals.
Cassie is doing very well. We got a large cage for her to stay in with her toys when we are away. So now we don't have to worry about her chewing up things. We leave the doors open on it and on her sleeping cage when we are home and she wanders in and out, takes toys in and out, etc.
She has seemed very happy after the first two months. -Joy
I recently adopted this yellow tabby kitten at the PetsMart in Plano. He was not a happy camper when he found out there was already a "cat" at his house. However, the resident cat, Kisser was so delighted to meet him, she let him eat first, sleep in her favorite spot and within two days was washing his face for him. He decided life was good and he would just allow her to love him. We are all delighted with his decision. Pictures inclosed, all napping as they play so hard it is difficult to get a snap shot of them, but the naps are frequent !!!
Thank you for the work you do and the joy you give.
-Kathleen
We adopted two wonderful pups from the Frisco Humane Society! Not at the same time though. Bailey (aka Skittle Nibblet) came to us first in November. We lost our Boston Terrier of 14 years last August. It was so painful for our family. A few months went by and we started feeling a huge hole in our family. So we started looking at the shelters. We kinda knew what we were looking for, but although there were too many wonderful dogs in these shelters (and it broke my heart to walk away from them) we just weren’t feeling that connection!
We adopted "Tom" and "Jerry" (renamed Kalamazoo and Tucker) on Feb. 23, 2004. The boys are great. Hallmark agrees. They have selected Tucker as a finalist in Hallmark's Your Pets birthday card competition (www.hallmark.
com/you). In addition to the grand prize, they are having Mini-contests. Each mini-contest winner gets $250 and is able to select a pet charity that receives $250. If we win in any of the mini-contests, the Frisco Humane Society will be the charity that we choose because without you, we wouldn't have Tucker (or Kal)!
