Seeking the best possible outcome for Jack (a pain-free future with optimum mobility) we consulted Jack’s veterinarian, as well as an orthopedic surgeon. After examinations were conducted and x-rays examined, both doctors concluded that removing the injured leg would provide Jack with the best possible outcome. While not an easy decision to make, Jack’s health and well being are of utmost importance, so we are moving forward with the doctors’ recommendation. JACK NEEDS YOUR HELP…
Our adorable pup, Jack, came to Frisco Humane Society with an injured front leg. The injury (a compound fracture) took place a few months ago and, unfortunately, healed improperly. X-rays showed one half of one of the lower leg bones (the ulna) was completely missing. Also, all of the tendons and ligaments were either torn away or cut out. Thus, with so little to work with, it made reconstruction very difficult and subject to failure. The leg is bent, dangling loose, vulnerable to further injury and nearly impossible for him to use.
